Networking with Peers
When surveyed about what they value most in their COAE membership, the most common response is "the networking." No one understands the challenges of a CEO like another CEO. The Council offers access to peers in other fields of service with varying backgrounds, tenure, agency types and sizes, etc. Whatever the issue, one of our members has experience with it.
Council Meetings: Most meetings are held virtually with some in-person.
Council meetings are generally the second Thursday of the month typically from 11:00am to 12:00pm. The agenda includes a program featuring a community leader or expert regarding topics relevant to the nonprofit sector with time for questions and comments.
Membership with the New York Council of Nonprofits (NYCON)
All members of the Council are eligible to receive a discounted membership rate with NYCON. Eligibility for the Nonprofit Benefit Exchange (NBE) Insurance Consortium
The NBE Consortium was established in 2016 with coordination from the Council of Agency Executives and the Human Services Leadership Council in Syracuse to assist in managing the cost of insurance coverage for eligible local nonprofit organizations. NBE member organizations can offer employees multiple insurance products at competitive pricing. COAE members must meet eligibility to join. To be considered, organizations must have at least 100 employees for medical coverage plans and smaller organizations are eligible for dental, vision, and EAP plans. There is an additional fee for NBE membership.
