TITLE: Director of Finance & Administration
REPORTS TO: President & Chief Executive Officer
This is a full-time (40 hours), year-round position.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
The Director of Finance & Administration will be a critical player on the Causewave leadership team, and will be essential to increasing the scale of Causewave’s work and continue building this successful model for change in our region.
We’re looking for an experienced finance / accounting professional with an aptitude for and interest in building the policies, practices and systems that help our organization run smoothly. The ideal candidate will be someone who wants to make a real difference in the community by applying their financial and leadership experience on behalf of a growing, high-impact organization.
The Director of Finance & Administration will work closely with the leadership team, managing tasks including but not limited to:
● Serve as the leader of financial strategy and financial planning for the organization.
● Oversee all financial operations, including supervision of the Finance and Operations Coordinator who manages A/P, A/R, invoicing, payroll, and banking.
● Producing reliable, accurate and timely monthly financial reports.
● Partner with the Director of Marketing and Fund Development to develop useful financial projections by analyzing staff utilization trends.
● Lead the process to develop the annual budget, in partnership with the rest of the leadership team, treasurer and the finance committee.
● Establish, maintain and improve systems for tracking and reporting on a variety of state, federal and private foundation grants.
● Oversee project billing to ensure timely payment of invoices to both Causewave and our vendors/ partners.
● Establish, monitor and improve systems, policies and practices for compliance, separation of duties and financial controls.
● Serve as the lead staff person on the organization’s annual audit, conducted by a professional accounting firm.
● Partner with the President/CEO on a variety of activities, including preparation for monthly board meetings and producing monthly financial reports for earned and fundraised revenue.
● Serve as primary contact with HR consultation partners.
● Partner with Finance and Operations Coordinator to ensure HR compliance and support of the team, including staff enrichment, engagement and team building activities to support Causewave’s strong, positive culture.
● Partner with Finance and Operations Coordinator to ensure office management responsibilities are fulfilled.
● Manage contracts and relationships with landlord and other vendors.

● Tech-savvy: We use QuickBooks online, Salesforce and a number of other tech tools, so we need someone who’s got an aptitude for and sincere interest in technology and workplace tools.
Preferred experience
● 7+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role; nonprofit experience a plus
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
● Operations/ office management experience a plus
● Strong computer proficiency
● Proficiency required in Microsoft applications (especially Excel)
● Experience with Finance/ CRM database management (Salesforce.com experience a plus)
● Well organized and attentive to detail
● Proven track record as a fast learner and team player
● Ability to work independently
● Strong desire to make the world a better place required

Compensation: The range for this position is $72,000-$78,000 per year. Actual offers within this range are commensurate with experience.
