Creating Safe Spaces in the Workplace
A two-part program, Thursday May 13, noon-1pm and Thursday May 27 at noon-1pm.
Learn how to make your organization safer and more inclusive for all people, regardless of their gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation. These two sessions are designed to reduce the bias and ignorance that can lead to homophobia, transphobia and sexist interactions.
While theoretically you could attend just Part One, you would be missing out on suggestions to implement your new knowledge in your organization and life. Attendance in Part One is required to attend Part Two
Part 1: Gaining Knowledge. This session will provide participants with foundational information to enhance their understanding of the LGBTQ+ communities. (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, “plus” others). Even if you have attended something like this in the past, or feel you understand the basics, this session will provide useful models and updated language.
